David A. Mendini, 70, of East Brunswick Township, passed away peacefully Wednesday at Orwigsburg Center-Genesis Healthcare.Born in Pottsville, May 29, 1945, he was a son of the late Alfred and Geraldine Becker Mendini.He was the husband of Sandy D. Mendini, whom he married June 7, 1969.He was a 1963 graduate of Minersville High School and earned his associate degree from Williamsport Technical School. He was an iron worker for Local 420, Reading, David served as a chief master sergeant for the 201st Red Horse Squadron during the Persian Gulf War in the Air Force National Guard. He served a total of 36 years.He was a member of the Rajah Shrine, Reading.David was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tricia Ann, and an infant son, Anthony David.Surviving, in addition to his wife of 47 years, Sandy, are three daughters, Angela, wife of Troy Baver, New Ringgold, Nicole, wife of Dave Bradbury, Mahanoy City, and Michele, wife of Brett Brossman, Lake Wynonah; a sister, Theresa, wife of Harry Shaffer, Wyomissing; five grandchildren, Brandon and Madison Baver, Alexis and Dominic Bradbury and Jayden Brossman. A religious service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Orwigsburg, with Deacon John E. Quirk officiating. Friends are invited to call from 5 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Steigerwalt's Church, 1521 Chestnut Road, Orwigsburg, PA 17961.
