Eva (Lazarchick) Reifsnyder

January 8, 1920 ~ February 28, 2017 (age 97) 97 Years Old

Eva Reifsnyder, 97, a resident of Weston Senior Living Community and formerly of Lincoln Avenue, Orwigsburg, passed away Tuesday, with her family at her side. Born in Schoentown, January 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Clara Steranko Lazarchick. She was a devoted mother and full-time homemaker who with her late husband provided a warm and loving home for her children. After her children finished school she worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry. Eva always had a smile on her face. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing cards and going to the casinos. She was such a loving, kind and generous person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was a faithful Catholic and long time member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, until failing health prevented her from attending. Eva was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Leonard T. Reifsnyder, in 2010; an infant daughter Donna Lee in 1958; three sisters, Anna Thomchick, Mary Coyle, and Helen Savitsky; and two brothers, Nicolas and John Lazarchick. Surviving are two sons, Richard Reifsnyder (wife Julie) and Bruce Reifsnyder (wife Carol) and a daughter Cindy Stessalavage (husband Tom) and five grandchildren, Bret and Brittany Reifsnyder, Nicole Hartman, Jared and Marissa Stessalavage and three great-grandchildren, Maddylin Snyder, Kallie Hartman and Gage Stessalavage and one great-great grandchild, Charles Naradko. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the immediate family, with Rev. Msgr. Edward S. Zemanik Officiating. Interment will be in Salem Evangelical Cemetery, Orwigsburg. Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Orwigsburg has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100 Harrisburg, PA 17110. The family would like to recognize and thank the staff of Weston Senior Living for their personal and professional care giving as well as the friendship they showed our mother over the past six plus years.
