Fredrick G. Deibert, 94, of Orwigsburg, passed away Sunday at his residence while in the company of family members. Born in Schuylkill Haven, March 16, 1922, he was a son of the late Howard M. and Margaret R. Rehrer Deibert. He was the husband of Mardelle B. Berger Deibert. They married Sept. 10, 1949.He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and flew with North African Division of Air Transport Command. He was honored by Japoopian Veterans. He was employed as a loan manager for Motor Loan Service. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Orwigsburg, and also a life member of Orwigsburg VFW and Schuylkill Haven American Legion. He was preceded in death by siblings, Helen Moyer, Harold Deibert, Homer Deibert, Bertha Meck, Edgar Deibert and Milton Deibert; a son-in-law, Brooke P. Schlegel.In addition to his wife, Mardelle, Fredrick is survived by daughters, Diane D. Schlegel, Denver, Colo., and Susanne L., wife of Ricci Hartman, Orwigsburg; granddaughters, Alison Schlegel Bauer, wife of Mark, Denver, Rebecca Hartman Bachert, wife of Jared, Orwigsburg, Sarah Hartman Renninger, wife of Michael, Eustis, Fla.; great-grandsons, Ryan and Aden Bauer, John Fredrick and JJ Bachert. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. John Steitz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, Orwigsburg, or to Orwigsburg area food pantries.
