John  P.  McGrath, 76, of Orwigsburg, passed away Saturday, July 30th, at Laurel Center Genesis Health Eldercare , Hamburg.

Born in Philadelphia , Pa. on August 30, 1939, a son of the late Marion  (Boyle ) and James   McGrath .

He was the husband of Mary Lee  (Harvey ) McGrath. They were married on February 10, 1962.

He was raised in the Catholic Faith and served in the U.S. Navy

John Graduated from Roman Catholic High,  Philadelphia in 1957. He then earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1968 from La Salle University. John also  attended Temple University for Metallurgy.

He was employed as a Top Executive  at PCP, the former Standard Pressed Steel of Jenkintown, PA .

In addition to his wife of 54 years, Mary Lee, John  is  survived by

two daughters, Michele  , wife of  Tim  Bosack and

Maureen , wife of  John  Zimmerman

4 Grandchildren are Madison, John & Shelby Bosack and Whitney Zimmerman.

four sisters, Marilyn , wife of  Louis  Vetter,  Pat  McGrath,  Theresa , wife of  Michael  Baron and  Janet , wife of  Peter  Seccia

a brother, James  McGrath

John is also survived by numerous nieces & Nephews

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Orwigsburg, PA, at 2:30 PM on Saturday, August 6th. Friends are invited to call   Saturday from 1:30 PM until time of Service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to JDRF ( Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) in John McGrath's Memory, and mailed to 26 Broadway, 14th Floor New York, NY 10004, or donate online at www.jdrf.org.

Interment will be private Schuylkill Memorial Park, Inc.
