Linda J. (Yoder) Krebs

LINDA J. KREBS, 72, of Orwigsburg, PA passed away on Saturday, January 30th, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She was born to the the late Fred and Verna Elizabeth (Miller) Yoder in Cressona, PA on June 16, 1943.

Linda was married for 46 years to her high school sweetheart, the late Douglas W. Krebs, Jr.

She was a 1961 graduate of Blue Mountain High School and was active in many academic and social organizations.

After high school, Linda worked for the Blue Mountain School District and then as an Office Manager at Bartush Signs in Orwigsburg for over 20 years.

Family, friends and travel were Linda’s love and joy. Over the years she was involved in the Junior Women’s Club, PTA and PTO in the Blue Mountain School District, a Cub Scout Leader and belonged to the Orwigsburg Women’s League (OWLS). She loved boating with her family on the Chesapeake, camping and summer vacations in Ocean City, NJ. Most recently she was actively involved in the Schuylkill Haven Senior Travelers trips that brought her to many locations including Cape Cod, Nashville and Canada. She spent her time participating in activities with her church, St. Mark’s United Church of Christ in Cressona, planning reunions for her graduating class, reading and cheering on the Duke Men’s Basketball team. She loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and happily volunteered to participate in their school activities. She was also the proud grandparent to granddogs, Henry and Finn.

Linda is survived by her 2 children, Andrea S. Krebs and her fiancée Robert Seigenfuse and Dr. Douglas R. Krebs and his wife Jennifer ; 3 grandchildren Jillian E. Mensch, Jacob D. Mensch and Ellie S. Mensch; her 2 sisters Eleanor Gibbs and Janet Yost and her husband Donald; 3 brothers William Yoder and his wife Bernice, James Yoder and Gerald Yoder and his wife Shirley; 2 sisters-in-law Helen Bruant and Sandra Hirsh; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda is preceded in death by her sister Betty Laubenstine.

There will be a celebration of Linda's life at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, 30 Pottsville Street, Cressona, PA on Saturday February 6th, at 10:30 AM. The family will welcome people at the Church from 9:00 AM until the time of service to share memories of Linda.
