Marion R. (Barr) Cryts

MARION R. CRYTS , 73, of Orwigsburg, PA, passed away on Monday, August 17th, at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pine Grove, PA on October 22, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Ruth E. (Eidem) and Amos Barr. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Beulah Pillar and Grace Barr and a brother, Harold Barr. Marion was the wife of Billy G. Cryts. Married on February 11th, 1961 they celebrated 54 years of marriage. Marion was a 1959 graduate of Tremont High School and a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Orwigsburg. Marion worked as a Legal Secretary for the General Counsel at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. where she met her devoted husband. When they started their family, Marion chose to be a homemaker, providing a nurturing and loving environment for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Marion enjoyed family gatherings, providing lots of laughter and joy with her sense of humor. She found great joy cheering for her grandchildren at various sporting and school events. Marion also enjoyed the outdoors and could always be seen working in the yard and tending to her flowers in nice weather. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be remembered for her infectious smile, zest for life, sense of humor, and for instilling family values in her children. In addition to her husband, Billy, of Orwigsburg, Marion is also survived by two daughters, Sheri L. Cryts, Marci A. Kramer, wife of Jeffrey, and a son, Steven G. Cryts, husband of Kimberly. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; Joshua Ashman, Wyatt, Abigail, Bethany and Benjamin Kramer, Jacob, Colton, Keenan and Brody Cryts, whom she cherished. Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc., Orwigsburg is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements which are private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers and to honor her love of animals, the family would prefer memorial donations in her memory to the Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville PA, 17901.
