R. Fern Androkitis, 82, of Pottsville, formerly of Ranch Road & Applewood Apartments, Orwigsburg, died peacefully Friday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in Pottsdam, N.Y., June 19, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Eva Irene Lavigue and Lloyd A. Hartel.

She was the widow of John L. Androkitis.

She attended Pottsdam High School in Pottsdam, N.Y., and was employed as a housekeeper at the West Reading Hospital, Reading, for seven years, retiring in 1979.

She was a member of Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church, Lewistown Valley.

She was predeceased by her son, Thomas Ebling; grandsons, Brian and Eric; a great-grandson, Mason; sisters, Barbara and Theresa; a brother, Teddy; and a stepdaughter, Barbara Zalonka.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane; two sons, Curtis and his wife, Elizabeth Ebling, and Ben and his wife, Beth Ebling; two stepdaughters, Karen, wife of Burd Guers, and Debra, wife of Dennis Marberger; a sister, Dorothy; brothers, Gordon and Gervis; a stepson, Carl, husband of Debbie Dawn Androkitis; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church, Valley and Catawissa roads, Tamaqua. Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be no evening visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church, 955 Catawissa Road, Tamaqua, PA 18252. Interment services will be held in Kimmels Cemetery, Orwigsburg. Hamilton Funeral Home Inc. has been entrusted with arrangements.
