Andrew Joseph (Andy) Perzel, 74, of Cressona, passed away Saturday, May 26th, at Lehigh Valley Health Network Schuylkill-East, Pottsville. Andrew was born in Minersville,on July 27, 1943, a son of the late Andrew Purcell and Rita Marie Pasco.
He was the husband of Dolores A. (McDemus) Perzel, married for 44 years.
He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.
He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a Machine operator at Argo and Talbots before retiring. He was also a sexton for St. John's United Church of Christ in Orwigsburg for 24 years.
Andrew is survived by three daughters, Kimberly, wife of Landis Brown
Rose Marie, wife of Douglas Hartz, Michele A., wife of Cameron Parker and
a son,Bryon, husband of Cara, grandchildren Michael and Logan Perzel, Andrew Hartz and Jessica Zabarkas, Cameron, Dylan and Austin Parker. Great granddaughters Stephanie and Kaitlyn Hartz.. Numerous nieces & Nephews He is also survived by a brother, Joseph Perzel. Andy was predeceased by his brother Francis Perzel.
A religious service will be held Thursday, May 31 at 11:00 AM at Hamilton Breiner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Orwigdburg. Friends and family are invited to call from 9 AM until time of service. Rev. Dr. Jan Remer-Osborn will officiate. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Chuch, at 12:30 PM , with Msgr. Edward Zemanik officiating. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, will be at 10:00 AM Monday June 4th.
