Dennis Andrew (Denny) Wolfe, 63, of New Ringgold, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 22nd, at Assateague Island National Seashore, Chincoteague VA while vacationing with his beloved wife Kathy.
His family is comforted in knowing that Denny spent his final hours in his "happy place" with his feet in the wet sand while looking at the ocean; the scene he shared with his family many times. The entire Wolfe family would like to thank the Chincoteague community, especially the rescue groups, that were so unbelievably helpful.
Dennis was born on December 20, 1954, a son of Joy Aldine (Rolland) Wolfe, of Orwigsburg, PA and the late Robert C. F. Wolfe.
He was the husband of Kathleen (Kathy) Susan (Orlosky) Wolfe, and they celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary in May.
Denny was a 1972 graduate of Blue Mountain High School and a 1976 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, State College. During college breaks Denny worked at Tuscarora State Park as a lifeguard. He started his career as the Accounting Manager at Rest Haven Nursing Home. He was also the Controller at Diakon Lutheran Services (formerly the Lutheran Home of Topton), Mechanicsburg and most recently before his retirement, was the Controller at Berkshire Health Partners, Wyomissing.
Denny had a big heart and loved his family dearly; always putting others before himself. He was an avid OAKLAND Raiders and PSU Nittany Lions Fan. Since his retirement, Denny enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen to the surprise and fulfillment of others.
In addition to his wife, Kathy, and mother Joy, Denny is survived by his son, Drew Wolfe, husband of Victoria Rodriguez-Wolfe; daughter, Kelly Wolfe; brother, Scott Wolfe, husband of Marci Schatzman; sister, Wendy, wife of Robert Schuld, I.; grandchildren: Destiny Umberger; Kobe Wilson; and Harper Wolfe; aunts and uncles, and his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family are gathering from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM; followed by a Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, August 30th at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in memory of Denny to Orwigsburg Veterans Memorial Development Task Force, 300 Grove Street Orwigsburg, PA 17961.
