Alice C. (Foust) Somers, 73, of Orwigsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, May 10th, at Lehigh Valley Medical Center-East, Pottsville.

Alice was born in Huntingdon, PA on August 22, 1943, daughter of the late Mahlon and Helen (Baker) Foust.She was a 1961 graduate of Huntingdon High School.

Alice had just moved back to Orwigsburg in March after residing for 30+ years in Gaines, PA, where she was an active member of the community and Valley Alliance Church (Wellsboro, PA).

Prior to retirement, she had worked in the textile industry for many years, includingSylray in Orwigsburg, PA and Wundies in Wellsboro, PA; then at the Log Cabin restaurant in Gaines, PA, at CareerLink in Wellsboro, PA, and at the Wellsboro Gazette.

Alice is survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Somers)Brachman, wife of Robert Brachman, of Orwigsburg, PA; Jill Somers, wife of Bruce Nardy, of Wernersville, PA; granddaughters Jenna & Renee Nardy (both at home); a brother, David Foust, husband of Louise (Miller) Foust, of Mackeyville, PA; a niece Beth (Foust) Knarr; a nephew Patrick Foust; several cousins; and her beloved dog Mickey.

She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Elwood (Mick) Freed.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2017, 12:00pm, at Valley Alliance Church, 4864 Route 6, Wellsboro, PA 16901.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Rescue League of Berks County (www.berksarl.org) or Valley Alliance Church.
