Betty J. Haas, 87, of Hecla, formerly of Clamtown Road, died Sunday at home while in the company of family members. She was the widow of Harry F. Haas.

Born in Hecla, May 28, 1926, she was a daughter of the late George I. and Leah R. Stamm Eckroth.

Betty was employed as a machine operator at Atlas Powder Co., (ICI) Assembled Explosives.

She was a lifetime member of Christ Church of Mc-Keansburg, New Ringgold, and a member of the Women's Guild and New Ringgold Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her husband, Harry, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis D. Haas; and a sister, Catherine M. Quinter.

Surviving are two sons, Daniel H. Haas, husband of Christa, Hecla, and Craig G. Haas, East Brunswick Township; a sister, Shirley M., widow of Jay Herb, Orwigsburg; grandchildren, Katrina J., wife of Christopher Eckroth, Orwigsburg, Joel D. Haas, husband of Angela, Bruce D. Haas, husband of Justina, Brianne N. Halye and Zachary R. Halye, all of New Ringgold.

Friends are invited to call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg, followed by a religious service at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Nelson Reppert officiating. Interment will be held in Friedens Lutheran Cemetery, New Ringgold.
