Charlene K. "Cookie" Geil, 59, of Renningers Haven, Schuylkill Haven, died Wednesday evening at home while in the company of loving family members.

Cookie was born in Pottsville, May 6, 1954, a daughter of the late Edwin and Alice L. Fisher Moerder.

She was the wife of Mark W. Geil, whom she married Feb. 28, 2004.

She was employed as a material handler at IWCO Direct, Hamburg, and retired in September 2012 due to ill health.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Moerder.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, Mark, are sons, Joshua L. Smith, husband of Lee Ann, Wadesville, and John K. "Kyle" Smith; grandsons, Layne Aaron Smith, Schuylkill Haven, and Silas Smith, Wadesville; granddaughters, Katheryn Alice "Kali" Smith, Wadesville, and Rylee Kadence Smith, Pottsville; sisters, Regina Kindervater, Alabama, Lisa, wife of Philip Seltzer, Orwigsburg, Lynne R., wife of Con Guffey, Coppell, Texas, and Tammy A. Moerder, Auburn; nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a gathering for the remembrance of Cookie's life which will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Second Mountain Gun Club, 156 N. Greenview Road, North Manheim Township. The family has asked that attendees dress casually and bring remembrances of the good times you shared with Cookie. Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg, is honored to be entrusted with assisting the family with arrangements.
