Charles Hoppes, 72, of Orwigsburg, passed away Wednesday at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in New Tripoli, July 7, 1941, he was a son of the late Ruth L. Binder and Walter E. Hoppes.

He was the husband of Ida M. Heintzelman Hoppes. They were married on Aug. 24,1968.

He served in the Army and he was a member of Kimmels Evangelical Free Church, Orwigsburg.

He was employed as a machine operator at Reneer-Gencor Films Corporation, Auburn, retiring in October 2003.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Darwin Hoppes.

In addition to his wife of 45 years, he is survived by two sons, Brian C., husband of Pamela Hoppes, Weatherly, and Keith A., husband of Tracey Hoppes, Kempton; a daughter, Brenda J., wife of Randy Overly, Kempton; two sisters, Rose Marie Miller, Pottsville, and Shirley Ritzko, Pottsville; a brother, Raymond Hoppes, Orwigsburg; a sister, Barbara Fisher, Pottsville; five grandchildren, Steven Eppler, Tyler Hollenbach, Madilyn Overly, Clayton Overly and Jackson Overly; and a great-granddaughter, Mikaela Eppler.

Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Kimmels Evangelical Free Church, Orwigsburg, with the Rev. Preston Broadhurst officiating. Friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment services will be held in Kimmels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to , P.O.
