Cynthia L. "Cindy" Barnes, loving wife and mother, 55, of New Ringgold, passed away peacefully Saturday at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia.

Born in West Reading, on April 25, 1959, she was a daughter of Jeannette M. (Homan) Unger, Laureldale, and the late Robert C. Unger. She was the wife of Joseph E. Barnes. They were married on June 30, 1990.

She graduated from Reading High School and was employed as an executive assistant in sales and store operations at LTL Home Products Inc., Schuylkill Haven, since graduation.

She was a member of Christ Church, McKeansburg, where she served as deacon.

Cindy was also president of the Cheerleading Booster Club, Blue Mountain High School.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Joseph E. Barnes, New Ringgold; her daughter, Christie L. Barnes, New Ringgold; her mother, Jeannette Unger, Laureldale; a sister, Debbie, wife of Bill Rathman, Hamburg; nieces, nephews and great-nephews.

Friends are invited to call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Christ Church, McKeansburg. Religious services will follow visitation at 11 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in Christ Union Cemetery, McKeansburg, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Church, McKeansburg, 6 South Race St., New Ringgold, PA 17960.
