Hugh "Dan" Ball, 82, of Orwigsburg, passed away Monday at his residence. Born in White Bear Lake, Minn., July 30, 1933, he was a son of the late Robert Alexander and Elizabeth Anne McVey Ball.He was the husband of Sharon M. Mangine Ball, whom he married Nov. 23, 1985.Dan earned a bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University, California, and earned his CPA.He retired from National Semi Conductor, Santa Clara.Dan was the youngest of seven siblings who preceded him in death.Surviving, in addition to his wife of 29 years, Sharon, are a son, Andrew S. Ball, Saint Petersburg, Fla.; daughters, Michelle Louise Badal, Lafayette, Calif., Linda Kathleen Ball and her husband, Will Lanz, and her son, Matthew, Sierra Madre, Calif., Christina Cecil, wife of Thomas Brinley, and their daughter, Julia Marie, Walnut Creek, Calif.; son, Michael Janush, husband of Gabriella Calicchio and their children, Isabella and Elia, San Anselmo, Calif.; nieces and nephews.A religious service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Friday. Interment will be in Zion's Red Church Cemetery, Orwigsburg.
