Darlene E. Stein, 78, entered into God's care Friday at Orwigsburg Center.

Born in West Penn Township, April 23, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Harley O. and Marion Nester Henninger.

She married her husband, Charles A. Stein, on March 28, 1953.

She was a member of Congregational Free Church of Christ, Orwigsburg.

Darlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved all children and enjoyed camping with her husband and family who all agree she was a great cook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Henninger; and stepsister, Annibelle Koch.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 60 years, Charles, are a daughter, Diane A., wife of Eric Mengel, Orwigsburg; a granddaughter, Jennifer K., wife of Brandon Steely, Schuylkill Haven; a grandson, Jonathon C., husband of Bethany Mengel, Andreas; two great-grandsons, Chase A. Sincavage and Preston J. Sincavage; a great-granddaughter, Reese A. Steely; brothers, Richard Henninger, husband of Susan, Tampa, Fla., and David Henninger, husband of Marilyn, West Penn Township; a half brother, Jerry Heim, widower of Laural, Orwigsburg; and a stepbrother, Donald Heim, husband of Virginia, Orwigsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Darlene's name to Congregational Free Church of Christ, P.O. Box 385, Orwigsburg, PA 17961. Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg, has been entrusted with arrangements, which will be held at the convenience of the family.
