Dorothy R. Monaghan, 86, of North Manheim Township, formerly of Newtown Square Pennsylvania, passed away Saturday, May 13th, while in the loving care of her family, at her residence.

Dorothy was born in Philadelphia, on June 14, 1936, a daughter of the late Ruth (Engel) and William Joseph Lentz.

She was the widow of Francis J. Monaghan, Jr.

Dorothy graduated from Philadelphia High School for Girls. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Lebanon Valley College, later earning her Master's degree in Education, from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. After Dorothy's career in education, she went on to teach reading to the special needs community. Retiring with her husband, both were active members of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Catherine Monaghan-Daly, married to Desmond Daly Jr. and grandson Desmond Daly. daughter Margaret Megill, wife of Dan; granddaughter Cara. Dorothy is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.
