Edgar N. Bachman, 88, of Providence Place, Pottsville, formerly of McKeansburg, entered into God's care Friday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.

Born in East Brunswick Township, July 8, 1925, he was a son of the late Edgar P. and Annie Zettlemoyer Bachman.

He was a 1943 graduate of Tamaqua High School.

Edgar was the husband of Gladys P. Hartman Bachman, whom he married June 27, 1959.

He was self-employed in the plumbing & heating business for more than 50 years and had a workshop in the center of McKeansburg, and he was given the gift of water dowsing.

He was a former member of Friedens Union Church, were he served in many capacities, and also a member of Christ Church, McKeansburg, a member of New Ringgold Fire Company, and a long time treasurer and cook for the Anthracite Rod & Gun Club.

He was head of the elections for East Brunswick Township.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Peter and Herbert Bachman; a sister, Verna Hamm; and nephew, Daniel Miller.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 54 years, Gladys, Providence Place; are a daughter, Mary Ann, wife of Rafe Mengel, Hamburg; son, David E. Bachman, husband of Colleen, Clarksville, Md.; sister, Irene, widow of Norman Miller, Tamaqua; four granddaughters, Marlee and Rayna Mengel, Amanda and Nichole Bachman; a niece, Glenda Stankiewitch; two nephews, Roy Miller and Edgar Hamm.

Family and friends are invited to call from 9 a.m. Friday morning until the time of religious services at 10:30 a.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg, with the Rev. Sunny L. Stock officiating.

Interment will be in Freidens Lutheran Cemetery, New Ringgold.
