Elva  W.  Snyder , 91, of Pottsville, PA, formerly of South Warren Street, Orwigsburg passed away, Wednesday, July 20th, peacefully, at Providence Place Retirement Community, Pottsville.

Elva  was born in Ashland, Pa. on September 11, 1924, a daughter of the late Ida  (Neiman )  and Clarence Wagner

She was the widow of Prof.  William   H.  Snyder , he passed on December 5th, 2001. He was the Superintendant for Blue Mountain Area School District. and he was also Executive Director of Intermediate unit #29, Mar Lin PA

Elva was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Orwigsburg.

She was an  Ashland High School Graduate. Class of  1942, and attended Bloomsburg State Teachers College. She worked as a Secretary  for the  Superintendant of Blue Mountain School District. Elva's favorite Philadelphia Phillies was Chooch Ruiz.

Surviving are her Sons  David  L.  Snyder and Richard  L. Snyder, husband of  Debra , both of Orwigsburg.

Granddaughter   Laura  Snyder , Grandson  Mark  Snyder.

Great Granddaughter Savanna  Snyder  and Great grandson   Maxwell   Snyder

Elva was preceded by her daughter Emilie D. Snyder in 2013 and her Granddaughter Johanna Snyder   in 1990. She is also preceded by her Cat, Benny.

She will be laid to rest in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.

Services are going to be private at the convenience of family and entrusted to the Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Orwigsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Elva's memory.
