Esther M. Kerwick, 79, of Pottsville, passed away Saturday, October 28th, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Esther was born in Orwigsburg, on July 16, 1938, a daughter of the late Kathryn M. (Fryer) and Aaron M. Strouse, Sr.

Esther graduated from Orwigsburg High School in 1956 and Ford Business School in 1957. She was a member of Zion's Red Church in Orwigsburg.

She was married to the late Joseph E. Kerwick, Sr and together with their son, owned and operated the Kerwick Insurance Agency in Pottsville, PA.

She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.  She enjoyed crocheting and her homemade peanut butter fudge was famous.

Surviving are four daughters: Kathryn, wife of David Croson;

Margaret, wife of Mark Myers; Ann, wife of Timothy Flickinger; Maria, wife of John Warring; and her son, Joseph E. Kerwick, Jr.

Esther is also survived by 13 loving grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Zachary, Christopher, Jake & Matthew Croson; Daniel, Nathan & Jack Myers; Samantha & Kane Flickinger; Benjamin, Ethan Luke & Lilly Warring; Four sisters, Anna, widow of Daniel Shoener; Gladys, wife of William Ketner; Wilhelmina, wife of Donald Kleckner; Sandra, wife of Marlin Shappell.

Esther was predeceased by her infant daughter, Mary; sister Kathleen Reber and brother Aaron (Jack) Strouse.

A Religious Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 3rd at Zion's Red Church in Orwigsburg. Friends are invited to call at the church from 9:30 AM until time of service.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Pottsville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion's Red Church, Orwigsburg, PA.
