Gary K. Neifert Sr., 62, of New Ringgold, passed away Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-17th Street, Allentown, Lehigh County.

Born in New Ringgold, June 16, 1952, he was a son of Eleanor R. Fritz Neifert, New Ringgold, and the late Kenneth Flick S. Neifert.

He was employed as a mold pourer during his life and worked in a steel foundry and construction and was a beer tap coil cleaner. He also enjoyed roasting pigs for various events.

His memberships include, but are not limited to, the New Ringgold and Deer Lake fire companies, New England and Walker Township fire companies, Schuylkill Hose Fire Company, West Penn Rod & Gun Club, Buck Fever Gun Club and Auburn VFW.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are three sons, Gary K. Neifert Jr., husband of Jennetta, Pottsville, Bryan L. Neifert, husband of Jennifer, and Chad A. Neifert, both of New Ringgold; two granddaughters, Isis M. Rodriguez and Lily M. Neifert; grandson, Lucas J. Neifert; two brothers, Bruce L. "Skip" Neifert, husband of Grace, and Todd W. Neifert, husband of Bonnie, both of New Ringgold; nieces and nephews. He was looking forward to his fourth grandchild.

Religious services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg, with the Rev. Robert W. Burkey officiating. Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Ringgold Fire Company, 25 N. Railroad St., New Ringgold. PA 17960 or given to his sons to help defray expenses.
