George E. "Nook" Koch Jr., 67, of New Ringgold, passed away Wednesday at St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading. George was born in Pottsville, April 22, 1949, a son of the late Ellen A. Rhoads and George E. Koch Sr. He was the husband of Cindy M. Hammer Koch. They were married May 22, 1998. George was a Blue Mountain graduate and retired from Omnova Solutions, Auburn. Nook enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, was a huge flea market fan and enjoyed taking his beagle, Baily, for daily rides. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Joel Koch, in 2012Surviving, in addition to his wife of 18 years, Cindy, are a daughter, Lynn A. Koch; three sons, George E. Koch III, husband of Monika, Frank Rupp, husband of Tracy, and Matt Rupp; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Jo Ann Ketchledge, wife of James; a brother, Thomas Mark Koch, husband of Fatima; a sister-in-law, Evelyn L. Koch, widow of Charles; uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Orwigsburg, is honored to be serving George's family.
