Henry G. Kriner, 64, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away peacefully Sunday at his residence. Born in Pottsville, Sept. 21, 1951, he was a son of the late Harry P. and Bertha M. Gentzlinger Kriner.Henry was a member of Zion's Red Church, Orwigsburg.He graduated from Blue Mountain High School in 1969 and received a bachelor's degree from Penn State University in 1974. He was the girls basketball coach for Penn State Schuylkill Campus from 1982-1989, as well as head coach for girls basketball at Schuylkill Haven.He served as an official for baseball and softball games from 1975-85 and basketball from 1985-2007.Henry was as a substitute teacher at Blue Mountain School District and also a sports writer for The Republican-Herald.He was very involved in the Schuylkill Amateur Golf committee and belonged to the Tremont Clubsters League. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan.Henry was employed by Phoenix Contracting, Hidden Valley Golf Course, Pine Grove, and was also employed with Dean Arner Auctioneer.Surviving are his longtime trusted friend, Rhonda L. Krammes; cousins, Mark, Tim and Jody Gentzlinger and Marcie Hubbard.A religious service will held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Orwigsburg. Friends are invited to call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Zion's Red Church Cemetery, Orwigsburg.
