Herman Francis Scheibelhut, 85, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday, October 13th, at Seton Manor Inc., Orwigsburg.

Herman was born in Pottsville, Pa. on November 16, 1930, a son of the late Helen (Neiheiser) and Herman Joseph Scheibelhut.

He was the widower of Annerose   (Quint) Scheibelhut. She passed away March 24th, 2015.

Herman was a 1948 Pottsville High School Graduate, and a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.

He served in the U.S. Army & Also US Air Force. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Army of Occupation and Good Conduct Medals, Air Force Longevity and 4 Air Force Commendation Awards. He was employed as a Personnel Technician at a Service Office for the US Military. He also worked as a Press Operator for the former Bound Bearing Corporation, in Auburn, PA. Herman was also employed by Fort Indiantown Gap in support of Vietnam & Korean Refugee Programs and later as a Warehouseman at the commissary warehouse and also in the Maintenance Department.

Herman is survived by his daughter, Rosemarie   A.  Schimpf, Wife of Timothy, of Schuylkill Haven. Grandson Aaron J. Schimpf, Husband of Sarah, and Granddaughter Katelyn P. Schimpf. Great Grandson Derek Ryan Schimpf. Brother, James Scheibelhut, husband of Shirley Mills, of Pottsville, Nieces & Nephews

He was preceded by a brother William, and a sisters Elizabeth (Doris) wife of the late John Blum, and Marguerite (Nancy) wife of the late Donald Doyne.

A Religious Service will be held at 10:30 on Tuesday, October 18th at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, with Msgr.  Edward S.  Zemanik officiating.
