James F. Daly, 74, of Orwigsburg, entered into God's care Monday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.

Born in Philadelphia, June 26, 1939, he was a son of the late James Arthur and Veronica A. Manley Daly.

A graduate of Mastbaum High School, Philadelphia, he served in the Marines Corps in the Korean War.

He was a chocolatiere at Ward Chocolates, and was also employed as a machinist for R&R Machinery, State Road, Philadelphia, from 1987 until he retired in 2001.

He was raised in the Catholic faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, James Patrick, Joseph William and Daniel Daly.

Surviving are three daughters, Donna M., wife of Ramon Jimenez, Orwigsburg, Debra A. Daly, Orwigsburg, and Catharine M. Daly, companion of Joseph Salvador, Philadelphia; son, Patrick J. Daly, husband of Shannon, Shoemakersville; sister, Catharine Mary Daly, Philadelphia; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Holy Cross Cemetery, Philadelphia. The family requests that contributions in James memory be sent to Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., 116 S. Liberty St., Orwigsburg, PA 17961 to be given to his family.
