James W. (Jim) Stokes, 71, of Orwigsburg, passed to eternal rest, Friday, January 1st, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

James was born in Pottsville, on August 31, 1949, a son of the late Donald J. and Dollye D. (Andrews) Stokes.

James is survived by his three sons James W. Stokes, Jr., husband of Joann and also Kurt Stokes and Kevin Stokes, all of Cressona.

James is also survived by his sister, Donna, wife of William Dzurek and brother, Randy Stokes husband of Coleen.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Justin, husband of Carrie; Joseph, Fiancé of Ashley; Alexis, wife of Andrew; Kaitlyn companion of Jordan; Tyler & Katelyn. His Great Grandchildren are Alexander, Keira,Grayson, Bryden& Faye; and Nieces & Nephews.

James was preceded in death by his grandson Joshua James Stokes, in 2003 and his niece Sheryl Faust in 2020.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan and enjoyed watching game shows and movies. A 1968 graduate of Blue Mountain High School.

Services are private and entrusted to the Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Orwigsburg.
