Jay O. "Pop Pop" Mengel, 78,of McKeansburg went home to be with The Lord on November 7, 2018. Jay will forever be remembered by his wife of 45 years, Julia and three children, April, wife of Jesse Belsak, Jason, husband of Tien Mengel and Wendy, wife of Michael Grustas. Jay will also forever be remembered by his five grandchildren, Rachel Stephens, wife of Brian, Tabitha Belsak, Caleb Belsak, Michael Schmeltzle and Caitlin Mengel-Angstedt. Survived by twin brother, Lee Mengel and sisters, Ruby Berger and Darlene Shiffert. Preceded in death by brother, Myron Mengel and sister Georgine Schuster.

A native of Orwigsburg, Jay was a United States Air Force veteran, graduated from The Ford School of Business and worked for the Library of Congress. He retired from Lucent Technologies. Jay was a minister and member of the German Eldership Church of God. He also volunteered as the Auburn Cub Scout Master for several years.

Services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday at Steigerwalt's Church of God, McKeansburg, PA. A viewing will be held from 10 AM until time of service. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven, PA.
