Jean M. Detwiler, 85, of Orwigsburg, passed away Thursday, December 15th, at Lehigh Valley Health Network Schuylkill-East, Pottsville.

Jean was born in Orwigsburg, PA on October 26, 1931, a daughter of the late Miriam (Scharadin) and Harold Rarick.

She was the wife of Harry L. Detwiler. They married July 25th, 1953.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Orwigsburg and in the past was part of the Youth Choir. She was a Graduate of Orwigsburg High School, Class of 1949. She graduated from Susquehanna University class of 1953. She also attended Kutztown for additional school in grade school education.

Jean worked as a Teacher at for the Blue Mountain School District and taught music and Kindergarten for over 35 years.

Two sons Scott D. Detwiler, husband of Gail, of Gilbert, AZ; Steve T. Detwiler, of Orwigsburg, PA.

2 Step Grandchildren and 4 Great Step Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor Rarick & Lorraine Liddington.

A Religious Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, December 19th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Orwigsburg, with Rev. Lee A. Diefenderfer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery Orwigsburg.
