Joanne M. (Tooter) Eckert, 71, of New Ringgold, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on Sunday, May 22nd, at her residence.
Joanne was born on July 4, 1950, a daughter of Elizabeth V. (Dreher) Boyer, of New Ringgold, and the late Clifford Deibert. Joanne was predeceased by her stepfather Jay Boyer.
She was the wife of David P. Eckert. They were married on September 21st, 1968. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church New Ringgold and she graduated from Blue Mountain High School in 1968.
Joanne worked as a secretary for Eugene Gangloff and she also was employed as an accountant for Integrated Medical Group. In addition to her mother, Elizabeth, and David, her husband of 53 years, Joanne is survived by two sons Richard Eckert and Ryan Eckert, and her brother, Dr. David Deibert, husband of Betsy.

She is also survived by her two granddaughters Meadow Elizabeth Marie Eckert and Peyton Ann Julia Eckert and also her stepsister Susan Wertz.
Joanne was preceded in death by her daughter Janet Marie Eckert.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 26th at Friedens Lutheran Church in New Ringgold, with Pastor Cindy White officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM with a service to follow.
Interment will be private.  Donations can be made to Friedens Lutheran Church in Joanne's name at PO Box 12, New Ringgold, PA 17960.
