John C. Schu, 58, of Orwigsburg, passed away Friday, September 15th, at his residence, with his family by his side.

John was born in Pottsville, PA on October 3, 1958, a son of the late Jean Frances (Fetherolf) and Thomas Schu.

He was the husband of Mary A. (Dunheimer) Schu. They married on May 31, 1986.

He was a lifetime member of Salem United Methodist Church Orwigsburg, and served on the Board of Trustees and administrative council.

He was a 1976 graduate of Blue Mountain High School and very much supported their sports teams. After high school he attended Penn State and continued to be an avid fan of their football team.

He worked the majority of his career as a Consultant Engineer with Glenro Inc. He also served his community as a licensed Real Estate Agent for Charlotte Stoudt Reality, Orwigsburg, since 2001.

John was a lifetime member of the Schuylkill Country Club. He was an avid golfer, loved to travel, farm and hunt. Above all John enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Mary, John is survived by his two daughters, Marcelena & Anne Schu and his son, Thomas Schu.

His brother James Schu, niece Kayla & nephew Casey.

He is also survived by his 2 year old Golden Retriever, Reagan.

A Celebration of John's Life Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, September 21st at Salem United Methodist Church in Orwigsburg, PA with Pastor Steward Warner officiating. Friends are invited to gather from 12:30 until time of service in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Methodist Church Memorial Fund 132 South Liberty Street Orwigsburg, PA 17961 in John's name.

Interment will follow at Kimmels Cemetery Orwigsburg, PA.
