John W. "Jack" Taylor Jr., 83, of Orwigsburg, passed away Sunday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.

Born in Norristown, Oct. 29, 1930, he was a son of the late John W. and Mary Alma Malick Taylor.

He was the husband of Lou Ann "Skip" McLaughlin Taylor.

He attended Pottsville High School, Admiral Farragut Academy and Lafayette College.

Jack was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg.

He was the owner of Air Brake & Power Equipment Co., located in Pottsville, Lemoyne and Northampton.

He was the former director of Community Banks, past president of the Schuylkill Country Club and past president of Pottsville Assembly.

He was a member of Rajah Shrine, Bloomsburg Consistory and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He also served on the Schuylkill Girl Scout Council board, national advising board of Bendix Distribution, Blue Cross & Blue Shield Advisory Board and board of directors for Pottsville Hospital.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Palermo; and a brother, James M. Taylor.

Surviving, in addition to his loving wife of 62 years, "Skip," are a daughter, Dr. Debra Taylor Cashion, wife of William, Pittsburgh; sons, J. Wesley Taylor III, husband of Heidi, Slatington, and Edward J. Taylor, husband of Debra, Orwigsburg; a sister, Dr. Cheryl Taylor Desmond, wife of Earl Kline, Lancaster; grandchildren, Lucy Cashion and her husband, Kevin Arkell, George Taylor Cashion and Edward Jr., Matthew, Jacqueline, Brooke and John Wesley IV; a great-grandson, Matthew; nieces and nephews.

Religious service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg. Everyone is invited to visit with the family an hour before the service.
