Joseph Zvorsky Sr., 77, of White Birch Road, Orwigsburg, died Tuesday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in West Brunswick Township, Feb. 13, 1936, he was a son of the late Frank and Bertha Sveda Zvorsky.

He was the husband of the former Patricia A. Somers.

He was employed for 13 years by the Atlantic Refining Co., Merchant Marines (ARCO) out of Philadelphia, and worked construction from 1968 until he became an elected West Brunswick Township supervisor for six years and worked on the township road crew until he retired due to health.

He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, Hamburg Moose Lodge, Deer Lake Fire Company and Fellowship Rod & Gun Club.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Michael, Charles, George, John and Fritz Zvorsky; and six sisters, Irene Zvorsky, Mary Whalen, Bertha Messina, Helen Strohl, Anna Culbert and Alice Rizzardi.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Patsy, are two sons, Joseph C. Zvorsky Jr., husband of Michelle M., and Andrew J. Zvorsky, husband of Holly L., both of Orwigsburg; four grandchildren, Amber M. Zvorsky, Christina M. Zvorsky, Amanda E. Zvorsky and Tyler J. Zvorsky, all of Orwigsburg; two brothers, Adam Zvorsky, husband of Sue, and Stephen Zvorsky, husband of Dorothy, both of Orwigsburg; and a sister, Eve, wife of Charles Rizzardi, Las Vegas, Nev.

A visitation with family members will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg, followed by a memorial service celebrating the life of Joseph.
