Joyce Pauline (Shuey) Mengle, 93, went to heaven on Sunday, February 26, 2023.   Born October 21, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Josephine (Hracho) Shuey and Clarence Shuey, Schuylkill Haven.  She graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School and Penn State University with a degree in Home Economics.  She taught Home Economics at Quarryville, and Palmerton, before moving to a farm along the Second Mountain near Orwigsburg after marrying her high school sweetheart, the late Richard H. Mengle.  Joyce taught kindergarten in the Blue Mt. School District for 40 years.  She also helped Richard run the family Christmas Tree farm for many years. Joyce was an avid antique collector, and spent her early retirement years selling her collection, with Richard, at various summer antique shows in the area and nearby states.  She enjoyed traveling with her family during summer vacations to Canada and the beach.   Joyce was especially proud of her family, and is survived by her daughter, Tori Leonforte, wife of John; Dirk Mengle, husband of Mary, and Tobi Mengle, husband of Barbara.  There are 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all remaining friends and family. Services will be private at the discretion of the family.
