Kathryn M. Snyder, 92, of Orwigsburg, formerly of Applewood Circle, passed away peacefully Wednesday at Orwigsburg Center-Genesis Healthcare, Orwigsburg.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, Jan. 13, 1922, she was a daughter of the late John A. Sr. and Katie Mengle Mower.

She was a graduate of Minersville High School, Class of 1939. After graduation, Kathryn worked at Walbourn Insurance Agency for a number of years and was a secretary for the Blue Mountain School System.

Kathryn was a very active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg. She was also a past member of the Order of Eastern Star, Girl Scouts, Orwigsburg Lionettes and PTA. She was a longtime volunteer at the Orwigsburg Center.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, William and Paul; and three sisters, June Lyons, Mary Plunkett and Frances Runyan.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen M. Monico, West Chester; nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 29 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg, with the Rev. Lee Diefenderfer officiating. Friends are welcome to stay after the memorial service for a time of fellowship and refreshment in the church social hall. Interment will be held at Mount Peace Cemetery, Minersville, at a later date.
