LOUIS ( LOU ) J. PICCIONE , 79, of the Orwigsburg area , passed away on Sunday, September 6th, at Orwigsburg Center - Genesis Healthcare , Orwigsburg.

Born in Landingville, PA. on October 28, 1935, a son of the late Susan (Vitelli ) and Attilius Piccioni .

He was the husband of Karen J. (Jones ) Piccione . They married on April 27th, 1982

He was a member of the former St. Joseph's Catholic Church Pottsville, PA

A 1952 graduate of Pottsville High School, Lou went on to the Pasadena Playhouse and received his Bachelors degree in Theater & Fine Arts from UCLA.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Criminal Intelligence Division, and was a founding member of the Schuylkill Chapter # 25 of the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame.

In addition to his wife of 33 years, Lou is also survived by

a son,Lee E. , husband of Julie Piccione , of Severn, MD;

Lou was preceded in death by his sister Mary Jane Griesbaum, and his Great Nephew Cole Griesbaum.

In lieu of flowers, because Lou was such an avid reader, memorial contributions may be made, in his name, to the Orwigsburg Area Free Public Library 214 East Independence Street, Orwigsburg, PA 17961.
