Mary Ellen Ziegler, 75, of Orwigsburg passed away at Seton Manor on August 10, 2018. Born in Ashland, PA on April 23, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Theresa Karlow.

She was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School in 1961 and East Stroudsburg College in 1965. She taught at Mt. Carmel, Panther Valley, Blue Mountain, and Pine Grove school districts.

Mary was known for her cooking and baking. The warning at the Ziegler table was "if you sit at the table, your fair game." She was a very special, selfless person known for her love of giving to others. She was an avid Phillies fan.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 51 years, Don A. Ziegler, are one son, Doug Ziegler, La Mesa, CA; daughter, Terri Ziegler, Gainesville, VA; daughter, Donna Ziegler Walton, and her husband, Joe, Advance, NC; 3 grandchildren, Taylor Walton, Ryan Walton, Izzabella Ziegler; sister, Joan Bannigan, Dove Canyon, CA; brother, Charles Karlow, Mooresville, NC; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30, Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at St. Ambrose Church, 201 Randel St, Schuylkill Haven, with Father Reiley as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at St.Ambrose Church from 9-10:15 prior to the mass.

Burial will be held following 2PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Indiantown Gap Rd, Annville, PA.
