Matthew Christian Bann, 21, of Orwigsburg, passed away Saturday.

Born March 14,1992, he was a son of Bernard J. Bann, Orwigsburg, and Denise J. Gasper, Schuylkill Haven.

He graduated from Schuylkill Haven Area High School in 2010 and was captain in his junior and senior years for the Hurricanes basketball team.

He enjoyed building homes, working with his father in the family business, and loved the outdoors.

Matt is survived by his father, Bernard, and stepmother, Sue Ann Bann; his mother, Denise J. Gasper; grandmother, Deanna Gasper; his uncle, Joseph and his wife, Lisa Gasper; cousins, Zachary and Emily Gasper; his uncle, E. Charles Bann and cousins, E. Charles Bann III and Caroline Bann; four stepbrothers and their wives, Kevin and Jennifer Kowalick, Gary and Alison Kowalick, Brian Kowalick and his fiancee, Marissa Yorke, and Stephen and Krissy Kowalick; and four stepnephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Am-brose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, with Monsignor Edward Zemanik officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fountain Springs. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Owrigsburg, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church.
