Morton H. Kunkel, 74, of East Brunswick Township, entered into God's care Wednesday at home while in the company of family members.

Born in Pottsville, Feb. 10, 1939, he was a son of the late Harry N. and Mary A. Rissmiller Kunkel. He was the husband of the former Elsie C. Seltzer, whom he married June 4, 1960.

A 1958 graduate of Blue Mountain High School, he was self-employed as co-owner and operator of the former Kunkel Dairy Farm, Orwigsburg. He also drove truck for J. Marlin Ernst Trucking Co., Route 61, Deer Lake, and Koch's Feed, Lewistown Valley, for many years.

Morton was a member of Zion's Red Church, Orwigsburg, a life member of New Ringgold Fire Company, Black Forest Gods Country Snowmobile Club and Pine Creek Fishing Club. He was also a member of the former Kunkel's Hideaway Hunting Camp. Morton had a passion for snowmobiling and four wheeling and enjoyed doing so with his friends and family members on Sundays.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James W. Kunkel.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 53 years, Elsie, are three daughters, Bonnie A., wife of Barry L. Schrader, Hecla, Susan E., wife of James M. Stein, Pottsville, and Linda C., wife of Mark D. Sterner, East Brunswick Township; grandchildren, Melanie L. Schrader, Tanya L. Schrader, Kristen L. Schrader, Emily S. Stein, Molly E. Stein, Kile G. Sterner and Madison H. Sterner; sisters, Barbara A. Beyer, Perkasie, Jane M. Lovell, Kutztown, and Cynthia J., wife of Ricardo Muntone, Orwigsburg; brother, Tom N. Kunkel, husband of Gail, Orwigsburg; sister-in-law, Patricia M., widow of Jim Kunkel, Orwigsburg; nieces and nephews.

Religious services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg, with the Rev. Eugene C. Eckroth officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday morning at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Steigerwalt's Church Cemetery, Orwigsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Morton's name to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
