Nancy E. Williams, 92, of Providence Place, Pottsville, passed away Monday evening at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.

Born in Pottsville, July 28, 1922, she was a daughter of the late William T. and Florence T. Thomas Williams.

A 1940 graduate of Pottsville High School, she worked as an administrative assistant at the dentist office of Dr. Ryan, Pottsville, for 35 years until 1977. After Dr. Ryan retired, she worked at the Schuylkill County Council of the Arts for a few years.

Nancy was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Pottsville, Pottsville Hospital Auxiliary, Pottsville Club, YWCA, Humane Society of the United States, Hillside SPCA, Bridge Club, Schuylkill County Council of the Arts and the Pottsville Free Public Library and was a past member of Stonehedge Gardens, Tamaqua.

She enjoyed being an avid golfer and competed in many tournaments at the Schuylkill Country Club. She also enjoyed traveling and playing bridge.

Nancy was preceded in death by three brothers, Truxton T., Douglas E. and Roland J. Williams; and a sister, Lillian Williams.

She is survived by two nephews, Charles C. Williams, The Villages, Fla., and Truxton T. Williams Jr., Wilmington, Del.; and a niece, Karen Jefferf, Lower Gwynde.

Private entombment will be held in Charles Baber Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901. Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
