Paul K. Schaeffer, 90, of Landingville, passed away peacefully Thursday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.

Born in Landingville, March 31, 1924, he was a son of the late Charles Herbert and Stella Fenstermacher Schaeffer.

He was the husband of the former Betty K. Reedy, whom he married Dec. 16, 1944.

He served in the Army in World War II.

He retired in 1998 from Pennsylvania Power & Light.

Paul was a member of Faith Reformed United Church of Christ, Landingville, and was a charter member of Second Mountain Rod & Gun Club, where he was known as "Abner." He was an avid sportsman and a past member of Buckeye Sportsman Club. He was a member of Community Fire Company, Landingville, serving as a trustee for many years.

Paul was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Marie Schaeffer; three brothers, Lewis, Woodrow and Earl Schaeffer; and six sisters, Blanch Schaeffer, June Yeich, Emily Reber, Ella Karpinsky, Norma Kimmel and Florence Schaeffer.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 69 years, Betty, are daughters, Barbara, wife of Ken Killian, Gloria, wife of Gary Ebling, and Nancy Schaeffer; sons, Kenneth Schaeffer, husband of Sun, and Dennis Schaeffer; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg. Friends are also invited to call from 10 a.m. until time of religious services Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor James R. Fidler officiating. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park Inc., Schuylkill Haven. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions to Faith Reformed United Church of Christ, 8 Church St., Landingville, PA 17972.
