Phyllis J. Geiger, 86, of Schuylkill Haven, formerly of New Ringgold, died Tuesday at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven.

Born Jan. 25, 1928, in Lenhartsville, she was a daughter of the late Lulu M. Hartranft Focht and Herbert Focht.

She was the widow of Joseph J. Geiger and was a homemaker. She was raised in the Protestant faith.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail A. Geiger, in December 2007; brother, Herbert Russell Focht; and four sisters, June Correll, Lois Straka, Alice Ketchledge and Darl Whitecavage.

Phyllis is survived by two daughters, Patsy L., wife of Anthony G. Schappell, Hamburg, and Cindy M., wife of Stephen P. Souders, Lenhartsville; a sister, Elda, widow of John Renninger, New Ringgold; grandchildren, Michelle Grugan, Tony Schappell, Nichole Stripe and Nicholas Stripe; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.

Religious services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., 116 S. Liberty St., Orwigsburg. Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 a.m. to the time of the service Monday at the funeral home. Interment services will be held in Schuylkill Memorial Park LLC, Schuylkill Haven.
