Richard D. Foltz, 87, of Orwigsburg, passed away peacefully Monday at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in New Ringgold, Sept. 20, 1927, he was a son of the late Amy (Rolland) and Richard Ira Foltz .

He was the widower of Arlene R. (Hechler) and is survived by his companion and friend, Margaret Bair, Orwigsburg

A Tamaqua Area High School graduate, Class of 1944, he served in the Navy in World War II.

He worked for Becker Brothers for a number of years

He was the owner and operator of Foltz Trucking, Cressona, and retired from Hess Trucking Company, Harrisburg. For many years after his retirement, he ran a chauffeur service, giving people rides to appointments and vacations.

Richard was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg, where he served on choir, was a Sunday school teacher, served as a Eucharistic minister and enjoyed all aspects of his church. He was also an automobile enthusiast.

He was preceded by his son, Greg Foltz; his daughter, Diane Diebert; and his brother, Donald Foltz.

In addition to his friend, Margaret Bair, he is survived by two daughters, Sandy Zendrosky, Orwigsburg, and Denise A., wife of Michael Saurazas, Orwigsburg; two granddaughters, Melissa wife of Kenny Seigfried, Schuylkill Haven, and Ange R. Darosh, Lake Wyonah; two grandsons, Ric, husband of Julie Zendrosky, Texas, and Damien M. Saurazas, Orwigsburg; four great-grandchildren, Brady and Sophia Seigfried, and Cameron and Kyla Darosh; nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg, with the Rev. Lee A. Diefenderfer officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to service in the church. Interment will be at Indian Town Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Family request no flowers. Please consider a donation to St. Paul Lutheran Church Music Fund, 215 N.
