Richard J. Hudson, 74, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday, January 20th, at Geisinger-St. Lukes's Orwigsburg.
Richard was born in Shenandoah, on November 4, 1947, a son of the late Melva (Eisenhower) and Marshall Hudson.
He was the husband of Alberta Leah (Brobst) Hudson. They were married August 30th, 1969.
He attended Shenandoah High School before serving his county in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He attended Grace Evangelical Congregational Church Schuylkill Haven.
Richard worked as an Administrative Assistant at American Argo for over 25 years. He also worked for Heritage Bank and the Redco group.
He was a member of the Schuylkill haven American Legion, and he was a former Lions club member. He volunteered many years at Schuylkill Haven Little league Programs and Bitty Recreational Basketball.
Richard loved fishing and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was a hard worker and enjoyed helping others. He would do anything for anyone.
In addition to Bertie, his wife of 52 years, Richard survived by
his daughter, Laurie, wife of Tony Sanders, and his son, William Hudson, husband of Jennifer. Richard's grandchildren are Jeffrey, Mallory, Caleb and Trae. Richard is also survived by a sister, Marsha, widow of William Brennan; two brothers, Russell Hudson, husband of Bonnie and Donald Hudson, husband of Mary.
Richard was preceded in death by his sister Diana Ivey.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 28th at Grace Evangelical Congregational Church in Schuylkill Haven, with Rev. J. Ted Rathman officiating. Memorial gathering will begin at 9:30 AM
Interment will be in St. Mark's Brown's Church Cemetery Schuylkill Haven.
