Silvia J. Biertempfel, 84, of Cressona, entered into rest Thursday while in the company of her family, at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.Born in Cressona, Nov. 18, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Minnie Krammes Heffner and Edwin Heffner Sr. She was the wife of Charles J. Biertempfel. They were married on Sept. 27, 1952.She was a lifetime member of Bethany Christian Fellowship E.C., Cressona, and a life member of both Cressona No. 1 Fire Company and Goodwill Fire Company.She was employed as a waitress at her daughter's restaurant, Jean's Place, Cressona.In addition to her husband of 62 years, Charles, Silvia is also survived by two daughters, Linda A., wife of Albert Zitkus, Bethel, and Jean M. Biertempfel, Cressona; her grandson, Michael Zitkus, Lake Wynonah; a brother, Edwin Heffner Jr., Cressona; and a sister, Phyllis, widow of Harold Hackett, Illinois.A religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethany Christian Fellowship E.C., Cressona, with Pastor Dennis Snyder officiating. Friends are invited to call the church from 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Fellowship Memorial Fund, 107 Front St., Cressona, PA 17929. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
