Theodore H.  Heffner , 79, of Pottsville, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 9th, while in the company of family members, at his residence. .

Born in Cressona, Pa. on April 28, 1936, a son of the late Leah  Isabel Fritz  and William  Washington  Heffner .

He was the husband of Barbara  A.  (Miller ) Heffner . They married on June 27th, 1964

Ted was a 1954 Graduate of Schuylkill Haven  School. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a an Airman First Class in the Korean War. He was awarded the Commendation Medal and Ribbon for establishment of computer & inventory control systems while in Japan. Earning him Airman of the Month, 1956.

Ted continued his education At Wichita Falls, TX at USAF Business & Technical School, Meji University, Japan. He served on the Blue Mountain School Board for over 40 years. The Library in the Elementary School is named after Ted. Along He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church Schuylkill Haven. He graduated from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Minor Judiciary School of the Pennsylvania Courts and received his state District Justice Certification from Wilson College, Chambersburg, PA. He also served as Secretary Treasurer  for North Manheim Twp. He was Secretary & past Master. Page Lodge #270 F. & A. M., Schuylkill Haven American Legion, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Blue Mountain "K" Lions Club, Past Officer of Schuylkill & Reading Consistory Clubs, Schuylkill County & Rajah Shrine Clubs. He was also one of the first male members of the Order of the Eastern Star.

He was the  Owner and  Operator of  Haven Hardware,  Schuylkill Haven, for Over 41 Years. He had worked for Pottsville Economy Supply as a corporate Purchasing Agent, before purchasing his Hardware store in 1975

In Addition to his wife, of 52 years, Barbara, Ted  is  also survived by his son, Arthur  H.  Heffner

Granddaughter  Crysta  and his Grandson  Kaleb.

He was preceded by his infant daughter Christina  Jean Heffner in 1973

A Eucharist of Christian Burial Service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, Schuylkill Haven, PA, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 16th,  with Rev. Jeffery L. Funk officiating. Friends are invited to gather from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at which time there will be a Masonic Necrology Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Mountain School District, PO Box 188, Orwigsburg, PA 17961 to be used for The Theodore H. Heffner Library, in Ted's memory. or to the St. James Episcopal Church  100 Dock Street Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972. Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Orwigsburg, has charge of arrangements.
