Viola M. Long, 85, of Orwigsburg, passed away Wednesday at her residence while in the company of family members.

Born in Orwigsburg, May 29, 1929, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Stella Smith Moyer.

She was the widow of Leon L. Long Sr.

She worked as a sewing machine operator and retired from the former Sylray garment factory.

Viola was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg.

She was preceded in death by infant daughters, Betty and Bonnie Long; a son, Larry G. Long; grandsons, Darrell R. and Jeremy L. Long and Lee Strausser; brothers, William, George, Henry, Alan and Donald Moyer; and sisters, Leafie Correll and Mary Schwenk.

She was the last member of her immediate family.

Surviving are a son, Leroy R. Long, husband of Deb, New Minersville; daughters, Sandra L., wife of Leroy Witman, Orwigsburg, Patricia A., wife of Joseph Versallies, Minersville, and Leafie M., wife of Russel Bubeck, Schuylkill Haven; a son, Leon L. Long Jr., Schuylkill Haven; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg, is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements, which will be held at the convenience of the family.
