Edward J. Hess

Edward J. Hess, 73, from New Ringgold, passed away April 12th at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.   He was born in Pottsville on September 27, 1947. He was the son of the late Norman and Barbara (Bachman) Hess.

He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Lynn, to whom he was married 51 years.  He is survived by his brother Robert of New Ringgold, brother-in-laws and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Linda.

He was active in the New Ringgold Fire Company where he was the Fire Chief for a few years, and then dirt racing took over. He loved racing at Diamond, Grandview and Penn National. He always had a car in the garage and friends from everywhere.  He loved going to Daytona in February.  He was employed as the Parts Manager at Heritage Ford in Orwigsburg for 40 plus years.

He will be missed by his wife, family and all his friends, as well as his cat Lucy. 

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Fire Company 25 E. Railroad Ave New Ringgold, PA 17960 or Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
