Franklin Andrew Wikle, Ashland, Pa, born October 26th, 1947, passed on November 18, 2024. He was 77 years old.
Surviving is his partner of 42 years, Nancy Anderson, of Orwigsburg; a brother, George (Ellen) of Moss Beach, California, niece Astrid (Anthony) Sicola, Nancy’s children Julie (Randy McCurdy) Letcher of Deer Lake, Sharon (Jim) Burkhardt of Orwigsburg and Dale (Heather) Anderson of Stamford, CT. Also surviving are Nancy’s grandchildren & great granddaughter whom he enjoyed spending time with especially birthdays and holidays.
Frank was born in Philadelphia, lived for 10 years in Binghamton, NY and graduated in 1966 from Parkville Senior High School in Baltimore, MD.
Frank was the General Manager of the largest Acme Supermarket in Binghampton, NY at age 22. He then headed the fly fishing school of the Charles F. Orvis Company in Manchester, VT for several years. He then became the parts manager of Rinaldi Chevrolet and Cadillac in Shenandoah, PA for 28 years until he retired.
Frank was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fly fishing, cross-country skiing, hunting, archery and camping. He made many lifelong friends through these activities and continued them well into retirement as well as hiking and biking. He was also an avid collector. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Orwigsburg and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
He was predeceased by his parents, George & Regina (Kulesa) Wikle and a son, Steven Wikle.
Services will be held privately for the family at his request with Dr. Rev. ShinAe Kim presiding. Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home, Inc., Orwigsburg is honored to have served the family.
