George Wessner Obituary

George E. Wessner, 89, of New Ringgold, passed away Sunday, March 23rd, while in the company of family. George was born in Drehersville on January 3, 1936, a son of the late Esther W. (Fegley) and Lester E. Wessner.   He was the widower of Eleanor C. (Bachman) Wessner, and they are now reunited as she passed away on May 5, 2020.

He was a graduate of Cressona High School, Class of 1954. He worked as a shipping supervisor at Zulick Shoe Company, Orwigsburg and also at Cressona Aluminum. He was a member of Stein's Hollow Beagle Club as well as an avid outdoorsman. He raised and loved beagles and owned a kennel called Deb-A-Do Beagles, He enjoyed dining at the Coldstream Kitchen.

George is survived by two daughters, Debra, wife of Michael Sterner and Robin, wife of David Penberth as well as his son Edward Wessner and his companion Helen; seven grandchildren - Brandon, Travis, and Tyler Sterner; Megan Whitney; Laryssa Moyer; Kelcey & Madyson Wessner. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Wessner.
