Harold C. (Jim) Thomas, Jr., 96, of Orwigsburg, passed away Wednesday, September 1st, at Seton Manor.
Jim was born in Saladdasburg, PA on March 9, 1925, a son of the late Ruth Adeline (Winslow) and Harold C. Thomas.
He was the widower of Jean Evelyn (Diggan) Thomas and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg.
He served in the Navy in WW II. After WWII he received a BS Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University.
He founded Thomas Pharmacy in 1952 and was well know in town as “Doc”. He was a past member of the Orwigsburg Lions Club and the Schuylkill Country Club. He was an avid Golfer & Card Player, especially Gin Rummy.
Jim is survived by his two sons Steven Thomas, husband of Sharon, of Orwigsburg, PA; Tim Thomas, husband of Barbara Ann, of Merritt Island, FL.
He is also survived by two Granddaughters Shannon Thomas-Rogers; Stephanie A. Dillow, wife of Dan Dillow and his grandson Michael Raymond Thomas. His great grandchildren are Harper Grace Dillow and Theo James Dillow.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Lee & Mac Thomas and his sister Joyce Burkhart.
A Religious Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 10th at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, with Rev. Michael Petresky officiating. Visitation starts at 9:30 AM in the funeral home.
Interment, with military honors, will be at Kimmels Cemetery Orwigsburg.
